cosmic-order.com - Tachyonic Woo

cosmic-order.com are a mail-order company specialising in Tachyon energy.

And Orgone energy. And Radionics.

And Energy Alchemy. And Vibrational Healing. And "Rods of Oneness". And "Chem Busters". And Dowsing. And "Adjustable Frequency Radionics Boxes". And "Cloud Busters". And "Healing Wands". And...

...well, you get the idea.

This flyer (available here and here) contains all manner of claims which, I suspect, are industrial-grade bullshit. I had to pick and choose which claims to bring to the ASA's attention...

"I write to complain about a flyer I picked up at the "Mind, Body & Spirit" festival, in London, in May this year.

The flyer promotes a mail order service, "cosmic-order.com".

I suspect that the flyer may be in breach of three sections of the British Code of Advertising, Sales Promotion and Direct Marketing (CAP) code. I can provide the original flyer by post, if necessary.

"TACHYON ENERGY" SECTION

1. The flyer contains numerous claims on the nature of "Tachyon Energy". Tachyons are hypothetical sub-atomic particles, the existence of which is not yet supported by any scientific observations.

2. Under Section 2.1 of the CAP Code, I challenge whether the claims about the nature of "Tachyon Energy" are likely to "exploit the credulity, lack of knowledge or inexperience of consumers".

3. Under Sections 3.1 and 50.1, I challenge whether the advertiser holds documentary evidence to prove the following claims, and I challenge whether the claims are backed by evidence, where appropriate consisting of trials conducted on people:

(i) "Tachyonised items and tools act as magnets for Tachyon Energy, slowing it down so that we can absorb and collect it within and around us with greater ease"
(ii) "Tachyon items are beneficial as they draw this much needed [sic] energy through our aura to assist in a manifestation of perfected health, wellbeing..."
(iii) The advertiser's "Black Tachyon" products are "ideal for counteracting EMF and Radiation"

"ORGONE ENERGY" SECTION

4. Under Sections 3.1 and 50.1, I challenge whether the advertiser holds documentary evidence to prove the following claim, and I challenge whether the claim is backed by evidence, where appropriate consisting of trials conducted on people:

(i) The advertised "Orgone Products" have any of the health benefits that the flyer claims are due to "Orgone Energy".

"RODS OF ONENESS SECTION"

5. Under Sections 3.1 and 50.1, I challenge whether the advertiser holds documentary evidence to prove the following claims, and I challenge whether the claims are backed by evidence, where appropriate consisting of trials conducted on people:

(i) The Rods "[produce] a low level of parasite zapping to aid perfect radiant health"
(ii) The Rods contain a "rich Orgone matrix material"

"RADIONICS" SECTION

6. Under Sections 3.1 and 50.1, I challenge whether the advertiser holds documentary evidence to prove the following claims, and I challenge whether the claims are backed by evidence, where appropriate consisting of trials conducted on people:

(i) "Radionics machines can be used for absent healing, world healing and self healing on all levels"
(ii) "Radionics machines can be attuned to the vibration and frequency of your thought..."

"CHEM BUSTERS" section

7. Under Sections 3.1 and 50.1, I challenge whether the advertiser holds documentary evidence to prove the following claims, and I challenge whether the claims are backed by evidence, where appropriate consisting of trials conducted on people:

(i) The advertised products can "assist in purifying your environment and removing chemicals and pollution from the atmosphere"
(ii) The products can "ensure your health and wellbeing [sic] wherever you are"

8. I confirm that I have no connections with the advertiser. I confirm that I am not involved in legal proceedings with the advertiser."
